Bye Bye Sock!

Today was a great day because Connor was able to get his big blue cast (or sock as he called it)off.  Three weeks really went fast and Connor was such a trooper and never complained about his cast once. He just went on with his life and didn't let it slow him down one bit.  Today the cast came off and we got a new set of x-rays. Everything looks good.  He has to wear a small air cast for the next 2 weeks, however we can take it on and off for sleep, bath, and swimming.  We told Connor that if he was brave today and listened and didn't cry then he could go to Target and pick out ANY toy he wanted.  He was SO good at the doctor's office.  The nurse called his name and he stood up and followed her to his room.  He sat so still and smiled while she cut his cast off, he did awesome while the "robot" (x-ray machine) took pictures and he said "Thank You" to the doctor when he was finished talking.  I was so proud of him!  We have to go back for one more visit in 3 months to make sure everything is on track.  He walks with a little bit of limp right now, but they said that is normal and can last up to 6 months.

As promised, we went straight to Target.  I was showing him all kinds of games, cars, bikes, scooters...but he insisted on getting a $2 fish.  Bless his little heart!  When we got home we hit the sprinkler and the pool!  His favorite part of not having a cast was taking a real bath-- the boy LOVES baths.
