"I Go Potty"

This weekend Mike and I decided to tackle potty training with Connor.  He has been asking to sit on the potty for a little while now...so we thought we would give it a shot and just see what happens.  We took Connor to the Magic House Saturday morning because we knew we would be stuck in the house the rest of the weekend.  Much to our surprise, Connor has done really well (knock on wood).   He had a few accidents on Saturday afternoon and never made it once to the bathroom.  Sunday morning he went for the first time as soon as he woke up and did pretty well the rest of the day...besides going #2 in his pants.  It is too cute when he looks us in the eyes and says with his sweet little voice, "I go potty!" Today he did AWESOME.  We had no accidents and he even went #2 twice in the toilet.  He was all about his little toilet seat on Sunday, but today he insisted on sitting on the big toilet (I wasn't going to argue, that means I didn't have to clean the little one!)  He was always rewarded with a couple M&M's-- he is like his Mama-- we'll do anything for a little chocolate.

I know this is a lot of and maybe a little too much information, but I am using this blog as scrapbook-- so I want to remember this all someday. :-)

Mike and I are so proud of Connor and hope this new milestone continues to go well-- tomorrow is his first day at the sitters wearing big boy pants, so we will see how it goes.  Below are a few pictures of our potty going little boy!

If he continues to keep up his good work, this could mean 2 whole months of no diaper buying...WooHoo!!

Magic House

Mike and I took Connor for his first trip to the Magic House.  Connor had a blast and ran all over the place.  Mike and I were in shock on how much it has changed since we were little-- the old part seems so boring compared to all the cool new activities they have.  Connor's favorite part was the water table.  His least favorite much to my dismay was the shopping center.  I handed him a shopping basket to pick out some groceries.  He set it down and said "no thank you" and walked out.  HA! He definitely gets that from his Dad.  We all had a blast and can't wait to go back again!

Weekend and SNOW

What a weekend!!  My brother Eddie was in town this past week and we have had a blast hanging out with him.  Friday the boys played poker and the girls (and Connor) went to a 31 party at Maria's.  Saturday Nicholas and Gabriel were baptized.  Then Sunday was my Mom's birthday and we celebrated with dinner and lots of laughs.  I wish I captured more pictures this weekend, but in the midst of the visiting and craziness I only remembered my camera  on Sunday.
Silly Uncle Eddie--we had so much fun with him in town

I just love this little boy to pieces

The entire adult gang-- we are a crazy bunch!
Today it SNOWED!  Finally we got to use the boots I bought months ago for Connor.  Connor was so excited for the snow and talked about it ALL night.  We played outside for a little bit this afternoon-- it was so cold, but lots of fun!

This picture cracks me up.  Connor did not want to wear his mittens. "Mom how am I supposed to pick up snow with these on?"

Powder Valley

Mike has been working crazy long hours lately-- gotta love tax time-- so when he got off early we had to take advantage of a family outing.  It was a little chilly so we decided to go play in the indoor tree house at Powder Valley.  Connor's favorite part by far was the aquarium.  We watched the fish for atleast 30 minutes.

BBB-- Big Boy Bed

Mike and I have finally finished putting Connor's new room together so we decided to make the transition and move him from nursery to big boy room.  I was a little nervous because Connor is well aware that he can get in and out of the big bed by himself.  Last night was the night we chose to make the big switch-- we have been talking about it for days and tried to make a big deal of it yesterday morning, but Connor kept saying, "No go there!"  Needless to say we had prepared ourselves for a LONG night.  Bedtime came and I told Connor it was time to go night-night in his big boy bed.  He grabbed his dog, cat, and blanket (our bedtime essentials) and headed straight for his new room.  We read a book and he climbed right into his new bed.  I told him he had to lay down and couldn't get up or jump.  He wanted me to sit in his little chair in his room.  I sat there for a couple of minutes and then told him it was night-night time and Mommy would come back to check on him in a little bit.  I held my breath as I walked out of the room and much to my surprise Connor was silent and I never heard him move.  I went back up a little while later and he was sound a sleep and slept until this morning.  The transition was a success (at least for now)

I can't believe he is such a big boy.  I may or may not have cried a few tears last night.  This a milestone for him and yet I am a little sad that my little guy is growing up so fast.  Mike quickly reminded me that I will have a new baby boy to put in the crib in a few months and while I couldn't be more ecstatic about that, it is still hard for me to believe that my first baby is no longer a baby at all.  He has grown into a little boy.

Good job on a sleeping in your big boy bed Connor-- Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!!!

28 Weeks

It's official-- I am 28 weeks pregnant with our second little man.  That means I am officially in my third trimester...the end is nearing (12 weeks or less).  We are getting so excited and starting to really prepare for his arrival.  I am feeling really good (knock on wood).  I sleep great for the most part and can still breathe easily. I think I have started my "nesting" phase.  I don't remember being like this with Connor, but I have cleaned out just about every cabinet, closet, and drawer in this house.  I already have plans to do a deep spring cleaning in a couple weeks-- is it sad that I am excited for it?  I feel larger than I was the first time and am just waiting for the swelling to start. I have a feeling this little guy is going to be bigger than Connor was.  Only time will tell.  He is a mover and a kicker and I love feeling every little movement.  Here are a couple belly pictures at 28 weeks.  We are hoping and praying the next 12 weeks continue to go smooth and that our little guy arrives healthy as can be.

This is my attempt of taking a picture of myself--you get the drift :-)
